Understanding Construction Liens
In the event of nonpayment by a contractor for materials supplied to construct a new property or improve an existing one, Oregon State Law provides material suppliers the right to file a mechanics lien against the property on which the material was delivered.
Tum-A-Lum Lumber will typically issue a notice called “Notice of Right to Lien”. The notice is not a lien – it notifies the property owner that in the event of non-payment for the material we ship, we have the right to file a lien on the said property.
It is important that property owners understand the Lien Laws of Oregon State and know their rights.
